Facebook launches Forecast
Facebook has announced a new app to host crowdsourced predictions, called Forecast. Described as "a place to ask questions and use in-app points to make predictions about the future”, it includes a built-in points system designed to reward both activity and persuasive argument.
It’s an interesting experiment and could provide insight into potential outcomes based on shared knowledge…or it could end up being an echo chamber for popular opinions and/or a propaganda outlet. We’ll keep monitoring it.
