Instagram Cracking Down on ‘Hidden Advertising’

Instagram is to cracking down on ‘Hidden Advertising’ after an investigation by The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA). It has committed to a range of new measures, including prompting users to disclose when a post has been paid for, and creating a system to identify posts that break the rules.


For businesses, brands, artists and creators, it underlines the importance of being transparent - though we expect many to ‘test’ the boundaries of the new measures for the foreseeable future!
