Instagram is revamping Story Highlights by moving them from the profile grid to a dedicated tab, offering a cleaner, more organised profile layout.
The new "Highlights" tab, featuring a heart icon, will display vertical thumbnails for each highlight topic, simplifying the design and enhancing visibility.
Instagram's chief, Adam Mosseri, announced the update is part of efforts to declutter profiles, replacing the current circular format. While the change may reduce clicks on individual highlights, it ultimately improves profile organisation and user experience.
Following Instagram's change in interface, paired with a shift in user behaviour, now may be the time for creators to rethink their Highlight strategy and how they organise and introduce users to their content.
