Instagram’s IGTV Rebranded As Platform Moves Towards Video

Videos posted to Instagram will now be separate from photos shown on the profile grids as part of a rebrand for IGTV.

This demonstrates Instagram’s intention to become more video-focused, with head of the platform Adam Mosseri stating that it was “no longer a square photo-sharing app”.

The potential to post longer videos now looks likely - presenting new opportunities for businesses, creators and podcast hosts alike.

We think this will provide a wide range of opportunities for video based creators to expand their audience and gain a larger following. However, it will be interesting to see how this change will affect regular users who use the app for its photo-sharing purpose.
