Meta Announces Generative AI Music Project ‘AudioCraft’
Meta has announced a new music project, ‘AudioCraft’, enabling users to “generate high-quality, realistic audio and music from text.” The new project incorporates Meta’s MusicGen system, trained on Meta-owned music samples. AudioGen, however, uses public sound effects.
Meta hopes the tool will be used by sound designers/musicians to broaden their inspirations and support ideation. However, there are many concerns about the tool enabling misuse of artists’ works and the legalities associated with ownership and copyright.
