TikTok is looking to make itself more accessible by introducing default auto-captions on all videos.
TikTok stated: “You can modify the captions authorisation status for any video that has already been posted before November. After which, all eligible videos in supported languages will have captions by default. This ensures that TikTok is inclusive, and everyone can enjoy the app without language limitations.”
Creators can still edit and delete captions after posting, but it’s important to note that creators cannot opt out during editing.
TikTok’s new development aims to make the platform more inclusive for audiences with hearing difficulties while also letting them get the full enjoyment of the video on mute.
