In partnership with Penguin Random House, TikTok leans into the ‘BookTok’ trend by adding a new option for creators to link books to their videos.
According to TikTok, users can ‘tag any Penguin Random House title available in their respective country and once the video is posted, the selected title(s) will be featured above the captions.’
This new feature is a great new way for authors on the platform to further promote their works, and a new way for book lovers to discover publications through the platform.
This is excellent news for authors, publishers and readers as it enables new and old titles to attract a wider audience. It’s a refreshing use of the platform, but the algorithm may limit the genres or creators shown to users.
