Instagram is introducing Subscriptions to offer creators a recurring monthly income by giving fee-paying viewers access to exclusive content and benefits.
The Instagram subscription feature was first released in the US as part of a trial run but is now expanding to eligible creators in Australia, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Spain and the United Kingdom.
Creators will now be able to set monthly prices and unlock a “subscribe” button, which will offer the following benefits to subscribers:
- Subscriber posts, stories, reels and lives.
- Subscriber highlights.
- Subscriber Broadcast and Social Channels.
- Subscriber Badges.
These categories will allow viewers to access exclusive content, streamline interactions, and allow creators to prioritise interaction with engaged fans while capitalising on content creation. This makes it sound a bit like an Instagram version of Patreon to us…
