Spotify is testing a new low-cost subscription tier, Spotify Plus, priced at £0.99 a month.
The plan still has ads, but doesn’t impose any limits on the number of tracks you can skip per hour (currently 6 for free users). This new tier is designed to reduce some of the other limitations for free users, like limits on playlists.
Spotify clearly wants to entice free users to try a paid subscription with a budget friendly option.. Whether this new feature goes ahead after the trial period is to be seen, but one that we feel makes sense from Spotify’s point of view.
