Threads continues to search for a niche within the broader social media sphere as it expands in-app functionality.

The Threads team is working on a range of new functions, including introducing post-editing with a 5-minute countdown to implement any edits to new posts.

Threads is also rolling out in-stream profile switching, so users will no longer have to log in and out of Threads and Instagram to switch profiles - aiming to add more fluidity in usage and efficiency for users.

Lastly, Instagram is finally working on ways to allow users to delete their Threads accounts without removing their Instagram profile! This feature has been long awaited after causing an uproar in users who initially signed up to the platform to discover their instagram accounts deleted when trying to dissolve their Threads profile.
