Reflecting on 2022 - A Look at the Last Year

It’s nearly time to celebrate a brand new year!

As we reach the end of 2022, we’re reflecting on the last twelve months as an agency. Our team has been hard at work behind the scenes here at One Nine Nine - and we’ve loved working with new and ongoing clients on a wide range of exciting projects!

From sustainability podcasts and branding through to new album releases, book launches and more - it’s been a busy time here, and that’s not to mention a brand-new office and the expansion of our team. In this blog, we’re taking a closer look at some of our achievements and discussing our plans for the future.

Welcoming New Team Members

We’ve grown from a team of two to seven in just three years!

The rapid growth of our business in the last twelve months meant that we could welcome some new faces, namely Anya, our Junior Digital Marketing Executive, and Zak, our Multimedia Designer.

Expanding has enabled us to increase our capacity for a wider and more varied range of work for clients in the entertainment and sustainability sector.

New Space, New Opportunities

With the new additions to the team, we outgrew our home at Sheaf Street.

Whilst we had an amazing few years at Duke Studios, it was time to move onto new pastures - and the Leeming building was the perfect spot. Located in the heart of the city centre, our new office space is much bigger and is the ideal environment for our business to grow and develop.

Launching the Efeca Podcast – Women in Sustainability

We were delighted to be asked by sustainability consultants Efeca to work with them on the  “Women in Sustainability ”podcast. The series celebrates and elevates the perspectives and work women play in supporting sustainable livelihoods, climate change mitigation and creation of sustainable supply chains. Featuring a wide range of female guests from across the globe, the podcast is a platform for women’s voices in sustainability.

Annie Mac – Before Midnight

A club night for the sleep conscious!

This year, Annie Mac launched an ingenious idea – a club night created for those who can’t take late nights! Starting at 7pm and ending at the strike of midnight – Before Midnight lets you experience all the fun of a proper club night, without having to crawl home in the early hours.

We worked closely with Annie on this project, working on all of the digital marketing - including the pre-sale campaign and email marketing which promoted the event to a far-reaching audience.

Daniel Avery – Ultra Truth Album Launch

Ultra-Truth is Daniel Avery’s latest release, described as his “most ambitious and accomplished studio album to date”.

We worked with Daniel on multiple assets of this project, including the album and single promo assets, the social media strategy and the tour promo and supporting assets. It was incredibly rewarding to see the album get the recognition it deserved, when it reached #1 in the UK Dance Album charts.

Alan Fitzpatrick -  New Releases

It’s been an exciting year for DJ Alan Fitzpatrick, who has been kept busy touring the festival circuit and putting out some big releases - including the high-energy, techno breakbeat track “Nice & Cool Trigga”.

From collaborating with dj poolboi and PHOAC as his 3STRANGE alias, to releasing tracks on his label We Are The Brave – Alan has also embarked on several worldwide tours, as well as playing at Creamfields, Awakenings, Dockyard, Parklife, Hideout and EDC.

In addition to managing Alan’s digital presence and promoting his music and tours, we’ve also worked on the digital marketing for his label and radio show, including all the creative assets and community management. His label is set to celebrate its 100th release early next year - so we are looking forward to continuing our work with Alan and marking this impressive milestone.

Riz Ahmed - Long Goodbye Oscar Win

We supported Riz Ahmed with the release of his post-Brexit breakup album and short film “The Long Goodbye” when the global pandemic hit.

We helped maintain momentum and interest around the project, designing and delivering the creative assets over a two-month campaign which saw huge organic growth and engagement across social media platforms and coverage in traditional media.

Since then, the film has received recognition and won an Oscar for Best live Action Short at this year's Academy Awards. It was a pleasure to work on the digital marketing for this important work and a well deserved win for the creative ideas and hard work Riz put into the project.

Supporting KTC Edibles Sustainability Journey

We’ve been working with KTC Edibles, one of Europe’s largest independent manufacturers and distributors of edible oils, for several years now – and promoting their sustainability credentials is a big part of our services. 

We’ve continued to support them over the last twelve months on the sustainability side of their business, improving their media relations and generating coverage for their ongoing progress on sustainability. Key milestones this year have included supplying 100% certified sustainable palm oil, and becoming signatories of The Coconut Charter.

From writing and distributing news releases to designing new packaging, creating digital assets and supporting them in their brand development – we’ve provided a wide range of our creative and marketing services as the company continues to grow and expand.

Graham Coxon – Verse, Chorus, Monster!

Released back in October, Verse, Chorus, Monster! is the eagerly anticipated memoir from award-winning musician and former Blur guitarist Graham Coxon – a book charting his childhood and how he unleashed his creativity and demons when he became famous.

Our digital team was heavily involved in the book’s digital marketing and social advertising - promoting the publication and accompanying UK book tour.

The WAEVE – Debut Album Launch

The WAEVE is a new project and musical partnership, made up of Graham Coxon and singer songwriter Rose Elinor Dougal.

They are a brand new band that we have helped launch - working on their digital marketing strategy to build the foundations for their online presence in preparation for their debut album set to be released in February via Transgressive Records. 

Toasting to the New Year – Anticipating 2023

As we move towards the new year, we’d like to say a big thanks to everyone who has and continues to work with us, and we’re excited to see what 2023 brings.
