“Working with One Nine Nine was positive from start to finish, and we couldn’t be happier with the results. The brand discovery process really helped us to define Harlow in terms of our brand position and the value we deliver to our customers, and the One Nine Nine design team delivered on the creative too."
Harlow Solutions is one of the UK’s leading print, documentation and software solutions partners for healthcare, pharmaceutical, public and private sector organisations in the UK.
Founded as a family business in South Shields in 1947, Harlow Printing Limited has grown into a national player in the print industry. With a long history in healthcare, the company supplies the Personal Child Health Record (red book) to every NHS trust in the country, while providing a range of services to NHS, public sector and private sector customers across the UK.
Following a change of ownership of the business in 2023, the new leadership team were looking to refresh the Harlow brand with a name change, an update to the visual identity, and some new messaging that would form a strong foundation for future growth.
The business had changed a lot over the years, diversifying its offering beyond print into non-clinical supplies, fulfilment support and software solutions. The existing logo and branding created in 1977 needed an update that reflected the business as it stands today and the plans for future development.
At the same time, the new leadership team wanted to retain the successful heritage of the business and maintain brand recognition with existing customers, while ensuring buy-in from an established team.
We worked closely with the leadership team at Harlow to deliver a complete brand refresh - starting with an evaluation and discovery process designed to provide clarity on the identity, positioning and value proposition of the business.
Using these insights, our talented design team then delivered a completely new visual identity including a contemporary and cohesive logo, versatile graphical elements and foundation assets for a range of media. The colours of the design drew inspiration from the previous branding, to help provide continuity. We then produced a set of brand and tone of voice guidelines to help Harlow Solutions ensure consistent application of the brand in the real world.
The Harlow team is delighted with the new brand, which they rolled out in August 2024. We’ve also been working with them on the content for a brand new website (featuring the new branding of course), which launched in Summer 2024. Emmanuel Lawal - CEO of Harlow Solutions, had this to say on the rebrand results:
“We now have a cohesive, modern brand that respects our heritage, reflects the business as it stands today and acts as a strong foundation for where we’re heading.”
